Layoffs across my industry, where did you pivot? - what worked for you?

Three companies in Richmond cut staff in the same month. I would rather hear the honest version than the polite one. I am open to a pay cut if the field is stable. Which areas are hiring?

I moved into operations work. The skills carried over and there were more openings than in my old field.
