Layoffs across my industry, where did you pivot? - what worked for you?

Many of the people I know in my field were laid off this year, including me as an insurance claims processor. There are 10 people counting on me, so I am trying to be careful. The postings I see are fewer and ask for more. How did you choose?

I moved into operations work. The skills carried over and there were more openings than in my old field.
