Layoffs across my industry, where did you pivot? (update)

Three companies in Raleigh cut staff in the same month. This is my first time dealing with any of this. I have transferable skills but no direct experience elsewhere.

Keep everything in writing and save the confirmation numbers. It made the follow-up calls so much easier.

Look at job postings to see which skills repeat, then fill the gap. That gave me a direction.
