Layoffs across my industry, where did you pivot? (update)

Many of the people I know in my field were laid off this year, including me as a quality inspector. It has been weighing on me all week. The postings I see are fewer and ask for more. Which areas are hiring?

Thanks for writing this out. I went through something close to it 14 months ago, and it settled down once I kept a simple log of every call and form.
