Layoffs across my industry, where did you pivot?, IT help-desk technician here

Our sector has been shrinking and I am unsure if I should wait it out. I worked as an IT help-desk technician before this. I have transferable skills but no direct experience elsewhere. How did you choose?

I moved into operations work. The skills carried over and there were more openings than in my old field.
