Layoffs across my industry, where did you pivot?, IT help-desk technician here

Many of the people I know in my field were laid off this year, including me as an IT help-desk technician. There are 8 people counting on me, so I am trying to be careful. I have transferable skills but no direct experience elsewhere. Which areas are hiring?

I moved into operations work. The skills carried over and there were more openings than in my old field.
