Layoffs across my industry, where did you pivot? - any advice?

Three companies in Milwaukee cut staff in the same month. I worked as an HR coordinator before this. The postings I see are fewer and ask for more. How did you choose?

I moved into operations work. The skills carried over and there were more openings than in my old field.
