Layoffs across my industry, where did you pivot? - any advice?

Our sector has been shrinking and I am unsure if I should wait it out. I worked as an event coordinator before this. The postings I see are fewer and ask for more. How did you choose?

A short certificate helped me more than a new degree would have. Check what local colleges offer.
