Layoffs across my industry, where did you pivot? after 5 years as a software tester

Three companies in Birmingham cut staff in the same month. This is my first time dealing with any of this. I am open to a pay cut if the field is stable.

Thanks for writing this out. I went through something close to it 14 months ago, and it settled down once I kept a simple log of every call and form.

I moved into operations work. The skills carried over and there were more openings than in my old field.
