Layoffs across my industry, where did you pivot? after 12 years as a data-entry clerk

Three companies in Boston cut staff in the same month. There are 12 people counting on me, so I am trying to be careful. I have transferable skills but no direct experience elsewhere. How did you choose?

I moved into operations work. The skills carried over and there were more openings than in my old field.
