Layoffs across my industry, where did you pivot? after 10 years as a payroll clerk

Many of the people I know in my field were laid off this year, including me as a payroll clerk. I have been trying to stay organised about it. The postings I see are fewer and ask for more. Which areas are hiring?

Thanks for writing this out. I went through something close to it 11 months ago, and it settled down once I kept a simple log of every call and form.
