Layoffs across my industry, where did you pivot?

Three companies in Fresno cut staff in the same month. There are 4 people counting on me, so I am trying to be careful. I am open to a pay cut if the field is stable. How did you choose?

Look at job postings to see which skills repeat, then fill the gap. That gave me a direction.

I moved into operations work. The skills carried over and there were more openings than in my old field.
