Layoff notice, what does the 60 days mean?

My employer announced that the site will close and gave us written notice. I have read a lot of threads here and could not find my exact situation. Some colleagues are already leaving. What did the workforce office offer?

Keep everything in writing and save the confirmation numbers. It saved me later.
