Layoff notice, what does the 60 days mean? - any advice?

My employer announced that the site will close and gave us written notice. This is my first time dealing with any of this. They offered a retention bonus for people who stay. Has anyone been through this?

Thanks for writing this out. I went through something close to it 9 months ago, and it got easier once I kept a simple log of every call and form.
