Layoff notice, what does the 60 days mean? after 18 years as a payroll clerk

Our team was told about a closure date that is 22 weeks away. I have read a lot of threads here and could not find my exact situation. They offered a retention bonus for people who stay. Has anyone been through this?

I stayed for the retention bonus and looked for work on the side. It cushioned the gap.
