Layoff notice, what does the 60 days mean?

Our team was told about a closure date that is 8 weeks away. This is my first time dealing with any of this. I do not know if I should start looking now or wait for severance news. Should I stay for the bonus?

Keep everything in writing and save the confirmation numbers. It saved me later.
