Layoff notice, what does the 60 days mean?

Our team was told about a closure date that is 6 weeks away. I have read a lot of threads here and could not find my exact situation. Some colleagues are already leaving.

I stayed for the retention bonus and looked for work on the side. It cushioned the gap.
