Layoff happened 9 days ago, feeling lost after 9 years as a production planner

They called a meeting on Monday and 9 of us were let go. I had been there 9 years. There are 9 people counting on me, so I am trying to be careful. I have a few weeks of savings and a rent payment due. Is there a checklist I should follow?

File for unemployment right away. Do not wait for severance decisions. The date you file can matter.
