Layoff happened 8 days ago, feeling lost - any advice?

They called a meeting on Wednesday and 8 of us were let go. I had been there 8 years. I have read a lot of threads here and could not find my exact situation. I have not told my family yet. Which steps were urgent?

Give yourself the first couple of days to be upset. I did, and then I felt able to plan.
