Layoff happened 8 days ago, feeling lost - any advice?

They called a meeting on Thursday and 8 of us were let go. I had been there 8 years. This is my first time dealing with any of this. I have a few weeks of savings and a rent payment due.

Thanks for writing this out. I went through something close to it last year, and it got easier once I kept a simple log of every call and form.
