Layoff happened 8 days ago, feeling lost

I was let go as an HR coordinator this week and I am still in shock. I have not told my family yet. Is there a checklist I should follow?

File for unemployment right away. Do not wait for severance decisions. The date you file can matter.

Thanks for writing this out. I went through something close to it 7 months ago, and it got easier once I kept a simple log of every call and form.
