I lost my job as a machine operator and I am not sure what to do first. I have a few weeks of savings and a rent payment due. Is there a checklist I should follow?

Keep everything in writing and save the confirmation numbers. It saved me later.

File for unemployment right away. Do not wait for severance decisions. The date you file can matter.
