Layoff happened 6 days ago, feeling lost - what worked for you?

They called a meeting on Wednesday and 6 of us were let go. I had been there 6 years. I would rather hear the honest version than the polite one. I have not told my family yet. Is there a checklist I should follow?

File for unemployment right away. Do not wait for severance decisions. The date you file can matter.
