Layoff happened 5 days ago, feeling lost - first time posting

I lost my job as a dental hygienist and I am not sure what to do first. Any experience at all would help. I have not told my family yet.

Keep everything in writing and save the confirmation numbers. It made the follow-up calls so much easier.

I made a short list: benefits, bills, documents, and then my résumé. One thing each day kept me steady.
