Layoff happened 4 days ago, feeling lost - any advice?

I was let go as an electrician's helper this week and I am still in shock. I have a few weeks of savings and a rent payment due.

Give yourself the first couple of days to be upset. I did, and then I felt able to plan.

Thanks for writing this out. I went through something close to it 6 months ago, and it settled down once I kept a simple log of every call and form.
