Layoff happened 4 days ago, feeling lost - 6 months and counting

I was let go as a machine operator this week and I am still in shock. I do not usually post, so bear with me. I have not told my family yet. What did you do in the first week?

Keep everything in writing and save the confirmation numbers. It saved me later.

Thanks for writing this out. I went through something close to it last year, and it got easier once I kept a simple log of every call and form.
