I lost my job as a store manager and I am not sure what to do first. It has been a long 8 weeks. I have a few weeks of savings and a rent payment due. Is there a checklist I should follow?

Ask for your final pay, unused leave and any documents in writing before you leave, if you still can.

File for unemployment right away. Do not wait for severance decisions. The date you file can matter.
