Layoff happened 18 days ago, feeling lost - first time posting

I lost my job as a welding apprentice and I am not sure what to do first. It has been weighing on me all week. I have a box of my things and a short letter about benefits. Is there a checklist I should follow?

Give yourself the first couple of days to be upset. I did, and then I felt able to plan.

Thanks for writing this out. I went through something close to it last year, and it settled down once I kept a simple log of every call and form.
