Layoff happened 17 days ago, feeling lost

I was let go as a janitorial supervisor this week and I am still in shock. This is my first time dealing with any of this. I have not told my family yet. Is there a checklist I should follow?

File for unemployment right away. Do not wait for severance decisions. The date you file can matter.

Keep everything in writing and save the confirmation numbers. It made the follow-up calls so much easier.
