I lost my job as a sales associate and I am not sure what to do first. There are 13 people counting on me, so I am trying to be careful. I have a few weeks of savings and a rent payment due. Is there a checklist I should follow?

Give yourself the first couple of days to be upset. I did, and then I felt able to plan.
