Layoff happened 12 days ago, feeling lost - any advice?

They called a meeting on Thursday and 12 of us were let go. I had been there 12 years. I have a few weeks of savings and a rent payment due. What did you do in the first week?

Give yourself the first couple of days to be upset. I did, and then I felt able to plan.

Thanks for writing this out. I went through something close to it last year, and it settled down once I kept a simple log of every call and form.
