Layoff happened 10 days ago, feeling lost - any advice?

I lost my job as a machine operator and I am not sure what to do first. I am in Buffalo, in case local advice matters. I have not told my family yet. What did you do in the first week?

Thanks for writing this out. I went through something close to it last year, and it settled down once I kept a simple log of every call and form.
