Last week of benefits, options? - what worked for you?

My unemployment benefits end in 16 weeks and I have not found work as a quality inspector. There are 14 people counting on me, so I am trying to be careful. I wonder about extended programmes or help from local agencies. What did you do after benefits ran out?

I took a temp job while I kept looking. It covered rent, and the agency sent me to a permanent job within a couple of months.
