Last week of benefits, options? (update)

The claim window is closing and I am worried about bills. This is my first time dealing with any of this. I wonder about extended programmes or help from local agencies. What did you do after benefits ran out?

I took a temp job while I kept looking. It covered rent, and the agency sent me to a permanent job within a couple of months.
