Last week of benefits, options? (update)

My unemployment benefits end in 3 weeks and I have not found work as a mechanic. I have been trying to stay organised about it. I wonder about extended programmes or help from local agencies. Did you find short-term work?

Keep everything in writing and save the confirmation numbers. It made the follow-up calls so much easier.
