The claim window is closing and I am worried about bills. I wonder about extended programmes or help from local agencies. Where did you get help with bills?

Ask your state agency about any extended programmes. Mine did not advertise them, but they existed.

I took a temp job while I kept looking. It covered rent, and the agency sent me to a permanent job within a couple of months.
