Last week of benefits, options? after 12 years as a web developer

My unemployment benefits end in 16 weeks and I have not found work as a web developer. I would rather hear the honest version than the polite one. I wonder about extended programmes or help from local agencies. What did you do after benefits ran out?

Keep everything in writing and save the confirmation numbers. It made the follow-up calls so much easier.
