Last week of benefits, options? - 7 months and counting

I exhausted my benefits and have 8 interviews lined up. I would rather hear the honest version than the polite one. I wonder about extended programmes or help from local agencies. What did you do after benefits ran out?

I took a temp job while I kept looking. It covered rent, and the agency sent me to a permanent job within a couple of months.
