Laid off this week, where do I start? - what worked for you?

I was let go as a mechanic this week and I am still in shock. There are 6 people counting on me, so I am trying to be careful. I have a few weeks of savings and a rent payment due.

I made a short list: benefits, bills, documents, and then my résumé. One thing each day kept me steady.
