Laid off this week, where do I start? (update)

They called a meeting on Wednesday and 16 of us were let go. I had been there 16 years. Any experience at all would help. I have a few weeks of savings and a rent payment due. Which steps were urgent?

Keep everything in writing and save the confirmation numbers. It made the follow-up calls so much easier.
