Laid off this week, where do I start? - first time posting

I lost my job as a barista and I am not sure what to do first. It has been a long 26 weeks. I have a box of my things and a short letter about benefits. Is there a checklist I should follow?

I made a short list: benefits, bills, documents, and then my résumé. One thing each day kept me steady.

File for unemployment right away. Do not wait for severance decisions. The date you file can matter.
