Laid off this week, where do I start?

They called a meeting on Wednesday and 16 of us were let go. I had been there 16 years. I have a box of my things and a short letter about benefits. What did you do in the first week?

Thanks for writing this out. I went through something close to it last year, and it got easier once I kept a simple log of every call and form.

Keep everything in writing and save the confirmation numbers. It made the follow-up calls so much easier.
