Laid off this week, where do I start? - any advice?

I was let go as a call-centre agent this week and I am still in shock. I am in Fresno, in case local advice matters. I have a few weeks of savings and a rent payment due. Is there a checklist I should follow?

File for unemployment right away. Do not wait for severance decisions. The date you file can matter.
