Laid off this week, where do I start? - any advice?

They called a meeting on Thursday and 13 of us were let go. I had been there 13 years. I would rather hear the honest version than the polite one. I have a few weeks of savings and a rent payment due. Is there a checklist I should follow?

File for unemployment right away. Do not wait for severance decisions. The date you file can matter.
