Laid off this week, where do I start? after 7 years as a machine operator

They called a meeting on Thursday and 7 of us were let go. I had been there 7 years. I have a box of my things and a short letter about benefits. What did you do in the first week?

Give yourself the first couple of days to be upset. I did, and then I felt able to plan.

I made a short list: benefits, bills, documents, and then my résumé. One thing each day kept me steady.
