Laid off this week, where do I start? after 6 years as a nurse's aide

They called a meeting on Monday and 6 of us were let go. I had been there 6 years. This is my first time dealing with any of this. I have a box of my things and a short letter about benefits. What did you do in the first week?

Give yourself the first couple of days to be upset. I did, and then I felt able to plan.

I made a short list: benefits, bills, documents, and then my résumé. One thing each day kept me steady.
