Laid off this week, where do I start? after 15 years as a line cook

They called a meeting on Thursday and 15 of us were let go. I had been there 15 years. It has been a long 22 weeks. I have a few weeks of savings and a rent payment due. What did you do in the first week?

File for unemployment right away. Do not wait for severance decisions. The date you file can matter.
