Laid off this week, where do I start? after 15 years as a home health aide

I was let go as a home health aide this week and I am still in shock. I am in Omaha, in case local advice matters. I have a few weeks of savings and a rent payment due. Is there a checklist I should follow?

File for unemployment right away. Do not wait for severance decisions. The date you file can matter.
