Laid off this week, where do I start? - 5 months and counting

I was let go as an electrician's helper this week and I am still in shock. I have not told my family yet. Is there a checklist I should follow?

Ask for your final pay, unused leave and any documents in writing before you leave, if you still can.

Give yourself the first couple of days to be upset. I did, and then I felt able to plan.
