Laid off this week, where do I start? - 4 months and counting

They called a meeting on Friday and 12 of us were let go. I had been there 12 years. Any experience at all would help. I have not told my family yet.

Keep everything in writing and save the confirmation numbers. It made the follow-up calls so much easier.

Ask for your final pay, unused leave and any documents in writing before you leave, if you still can.
